Club Pass policy - We are modifying the club player pass policy once again as we try to get to a level playing field for all clubs. In 2009 you will be allowed to bring along up to 4 club pass players per game but only to allow you a maximum of 2 players over the maximum number of players on the field. The club player pass policy was put in place so that teams would be able to get their games played with enough players rather than cancel games. It was never intended to bring extra players just to have more. Here is an example of the new rule: U10 boys team playing 6V6. They have only 5 players from their team roster available to play a game. They would be allowed to bring along 3 club pass players. 6 field players and 2 subs. If they had 7 players from their roster available then they can bring only 1 club pass player. 2 substitutes was deemed enough to keep players safe. Another example: if you are a U15 boys team and have 13 players available on game day for a 11V11 match you will not be allowed to bring any club pass players since you have 2 reserve players over the maximum allowed on the field. Violations of this policy will bring with it a forfeit and sanctions taken against the coach and club. The problem in the past has been with teams bringing 3 club pass players resulting in the team having 7 reserve players. If this does not solve the problem the next step will be to eliminate the club player pass completely and force the teams to play with only the players on their roster and they will then need to play short to get the game in.
